Niantic District, 6:44 am B-13, B-100 responded in the area of 315 Main St. for a working car fire. The owner was driving eastbound on Rt 156. (on his way to work) while sitting at intersection of E. Patt. he noticed a smoke odor in the vehicle. He continued on until he noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. After fire was knocked down firefighters found a possum had apparently built a nest within the engine compartment. See 2nd to last photo for possum. Photos by Frank Summers
