Niantic District, At 2217hrs the Niantic & Flanders Dept. responded to a possible structure fire, reported smoke coming from a bedroom. When the first engine arrived they transmitted a working fire. While initial crews knocked down fire in the 2nd floor kitchen they were hampered by the living conditions of the house to make their way to the main body of fire in the rear bedroom. The decision was then made to make an aggressive attack through the windows of the bedroom. The main body of fire was knocked down shortly after with extension into the attic. All searches were negative and there were no injuries reported. Photos by R.E. Morris.
